The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) are the government department that regulate the Real Estate Industry in NSW. They administer the Property Agents and Motor Dealers Act (2000), PAMD Regulations and the Fair Trading Act (1989). The OFT also issue real estate licensing and salespersons certificates of registration in NSW.

Consumer Trading and Tenancy Tribunal (CTT)

The Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT) commenced operation on 25 February 2002.

The CTTT was formed as a merger of the former Fair Trading Tribunal and the Residential Tribunal to create a ‘super tribunal’ aimed at improving consumer dispute resolution in New South Wales.
