“I like to put people at ease,” says Ed. “I enjoy the art of negotiation, but above all I like to give clients everything I possibly can to justify the trust they have placed in me.

Long-term constraints on development in the Byron Shire have made all types of property — from small apartments to multi-million dollar residences — a limited yet highly desirable asset.

“So whether you’re buying or selling in our beautiful region, you’ll find yourself in a highly competitive and complex market,” explains Ed Silk.

“Byron’s such a potent drawcard. I see people come and fall in love with the place and want to make the Byron Shire their lifestyle choice. And on the other hand, I see properties in some pockets being tightly held for years by locals reluctant to sell or not needing to, until conditions are strongly in their favour. This makes for a very complex, dynamic and fast changing market.

This is where Ed can add the greatest value for his clients. With his deep local knowledge, his outstanding negotiating skills, his reputation for integrity, and his warm, laidback manner he can guide you through the complexities of the local market.

Free of the pressures and internal machinations typical of larger agencies, Ed is able to be personally involved in every transaction. His informed and empathic one-on-one time with every client and his careful attention to detail for his listed properties mean that he often achieves results where the larger agencies have failed.

“ I don’t have a large number of properties listed at any given time,” Ed says. “This takes a lot of pressure off me; it gives me time to enjoy a high level of personal engagement with people. It makes the whole process more rewarding for everyone.

Ed also acts as a buyer’s agent where he can discretely explore a potential acquisition without having to disclose your identity as the interested buyer.

The runs on the board speak for themselves. Ed Silk Byron Bay continues to achieve outstanding sales, with many clients having an ongoing relationship with Ed spanning decades.

If you would like a property appraisal or to discuss any property issues feel free to contact Ed in confidence for a no-obligation conversation. Drop into his office at the beach-end of Jonson Street

Prior to joining Ed Silk Byron Bay, Sanna worked for an architectural firm and a designer-home builder company as a technical adviser.

With this background, she can, if requested, help to style the agency’s listed homes in a sensitive and thoughtful way.

She finds that styling a property for sale or auction can be “a very creative and enjoyable endeavour and it can significantly enhance the market value of the property.

Liaising with sellers, Sanna puts her aesthetic flair and her collaborative nature to good use. Depending on the property, she can find herself consulting on a little or a lot, including anything and everything from paint colours and furnishings to appealing decor.

Likewise, she has the capacity to help buyers broaden their own ideas about the potential of the property they may be buying. In some cases, these conversations have opened new possibilities that for the property that was not immediately evident.

Not surprisingly, she’s fond of the clean, simple Scandinavian style — white walls, timber floors — but she’s open to a range of design options, working within the client’s brief and budget.

I try to integrate my own sense of style with the client’s preferences,” Sanna says. “From that harmony, everything else flows.
