There are many choices when it comes to ringing in the New Year in Byron Bay with so much music and entertainment at hand. This year the celebrations for locals and families will centre around Railway Park in the heart of Byron with music, an arts and crafts market, food vendors, buskers, circus acts, our ubiquitous drummers, kids activities and rides to enjoy.
For those who have a few days to invest in celebrating the transition from 2013 to 2014, there will be more music and art going on at the Byron Bay Falls Festival. You can groove to bands like the John Steel Singers, Vampire Weekend, The Cat Empire, MGMT, Violent Femmes and London Grammar among a host of others.
The three-day festival runs from 31st December 2013 to 2nd January 2014. The action will take place 27 kilometres north of town to the North Byron Parklands festival venue, the trial home of Splendour in the Grass. The location will alleviate some traffic issues in Byron Bay itself, with shuttle buses available and car pooling encouraged.
The Falls Festival Byron Bay also encourages sustainability through carbon off-sets with ticket purchase, on-site water refills to avoid excessive use of plastic bottles and composting toilets to save water.
So come along and enjoy the show while supporting local acts, arts and culture at the Falls Festival Byron Bay.
