Looks like it’s all happening in October for Byron Bay!
We have our fair share of festivals, markets and entertainment all through the year, however this month there is something for everybody.
Kicking things off let me just say how fabulous and prolific the whales have been over the last few weeks. It’s not just that we have seen them around the Bay in large numbers, it’s also the fact that they have been so playful, really putting on a show.
Whales breaching and playing together has been almost a daily sight in recent weeks…just beautiful to see.
Today sees the start of the 10th Byron Bay International Film Festival which runs for 10 days finishing up on the 23rd of October. Story telling via the medium of film has the power to change lives and therefore our world, so it’s just brilliant to see that creativity being celebrated locally.
Cavanbah Centre is holding a Community Open Day on Saturday 15th October from 9am. A whole range of free games and activities is on offer for the day so grab your tribe and check it out.
The Byron Lighthouse Run is also on it’s 10th year, taking place on Sunday 23rd October. This is a 10km run or 6km walk, depending on what you’re into with the money being raised going to support the Lismore Base Hospital in purchasing a piece of medical equipment. Both the run course and the walk course begin and end at Clarkes Beach Cafe.
PS…While you’re there check out the new menu at the newly renovated Beach Cafe.
