21 Nov Uplift Festival 2013 comes to Byron Bay
Byron Bay is known as a spiritual centre attracting visionaries and innovative thinkers from around the world to the Far North Coast of New South Wales. Mid-December will bring an impressive gathering of minds and music, art, dance and discussion to the Byron Regional Sport and Cultural Complex from the 12th to the 15th of December with the Uplift Festival 2013 Byron Bay.
There will be presentations by well-known speakers including Dr. Eben Alexander (A Neurosurgeons Journey into the Afterlife), Vandana Shiva (Scientist, Philosopher and Environmental Activist), Jeffrey M. Smith (GMO’S and the Institute for Responsible Technology), Satish Kumar (Global Peace Activist and Spiritual Ecologist), Dr Patch Adams (Clowning and Caring), Xiuhtezcatl Martinez (Earth Guardians), Guru Singh (Kundalini Yoga Teachings), the Gyuto Monks of Tibet, Helena Norberg-Hodge (The Economics of Happiness) along with several representative of the International Council of the Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers and many more.
In addition to the passionate presenters there will be workshops and panel discussions throughout the weekend as well as the Conscious Film Festival, Yoga and Dance Workshops, Kids Village, Youth Space, Global Food and Crafts Village and Indigenous Arts and Culture.
