We may have a brand-new hospital in Byron Bay, but that doesn’t mean annual government funding provides everything they need. That’s where Byron Bay Hospital Auxiliary comes in. They’re a volunteer community service that helps raise funds to buy up-to-date equipment for our local hospital, providing comfort for patients and staff.
Members and friends get together regularly to make and sell a wide range of craft items. That might include baking cakes, potting plants, or making anything that can be sold to the local community to raise funds. If that’s not your kind of thing, you can always put your hand up to volunteer at fundraising activities, which are great fun and hugely rewarding.
Members meet on the third Monday of each month from 1.00 pm in the meeting room at Byron Central Hospital. Whatever your age or gender, you’re invited to go along.
From plant stalls to garage sales to selling raffle tickets or helping out at farmers’ markets or Charity of the Day markets, there’s always something you can do to assist the team in their good work.
