Big win for Byron Yoga Centre
It’s long been said that Byron Bay might just be the yoga and wellness capital of Australia — and it’s not hard to see why. The retreats, the studios, the sunsets, the community… and of course, the incredible teachers.
We’re proud to be sponsoring this year’s Australian Institute of Architects 2024 Country Division Architecture Awards. The event will take place at 6.30 pm on Friday, 20 October 2023, at the Stone & Wood Brewery on Byron Bay’s Arts & Industry Estate.
The Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) is Australia’s peak architecture body and represents more than 14,000 members globally. Dedicated to raising design standards in our towns, cities, and urban areas, the AIA seeks to improve the health and well-being of our communities and plays a significant role in shaping the future of Australia.
The AIA awards ceremony recognises the high-quality architecture in our region. The ceremony also allows architects in the NSW Chapter to explore local architects’ priorities and contributions and to celebrate the winners in a range of categories. It’s also the first face-to-face award ceremony since Covid.
The architecture awards categories are divided into three groups: the first group includes commercial, heritage and educational architecture. The second covers public, interior, and small project architecture. And the third includes residential architecture (alterations and additions), as well as a category for the design of new houses and one for multiple housing projects.
Undoubtedly, the awards ceremony will prove to be a great opportunity for local industry professionals to get together to celebrate their achievements. On top of that, the event will take place under the roof of Stone & Wood’s purpose-built brewery, designed by our very own local award-winning architect, Harley Graham.
