07 Feb Byron Bay Film Festival 2014
February is a lovely time in Byron Bay with summer winding down and the new school year bringing renewed energy and the enthusiasm to accomplish great things. Speaking of great accomplishments, there will be a wealth of them to view when Byron Bay Film Festival 2014 rolls into town from February 28th to March 9th.
But you don’t even have to wait until then for a sample of some of the best of Byron Bay Film Festival’s greatest short films from the last seven festivals. On Valentines Day, February 14th, our BBFF sweethearts are treating us to a free outdoor screening at Apex Park overlooking Main Beach with the full moon rising over the bay. Grab a picnic rug and come along with your loved ones (under 15s need to be accompanied by an adult) to enjoy films that explore connection and relationships, with a dash of true love. Get there by 6:30 to get a good spot!
Byron Bay Film Festival Director, J’aimee Skippon-Volke and her team bring ten days of international films to the area as well as directors, producers and actors for workshops, panel discussions and networking on the art and business of film making.
Although the main venue for the film viewings will be at the Byron Bay Community Centre theatre, there will by showings at satellite venues – The Regent in Murwillumbah, The Pig House Flicks in Byron Bay, the Star Court Theatre in Lismore and of course Main Beach on Valentine’s Day.
