Bangalow & Mullumbimby Country Shows
It’s showtime again on the far north coast of New South Wales! Mullumbimby Show is in the calendar for the weekend of the 10th, 11th, and 12th of November, while the Bangalow Show will take place
The run-up to Christmas may be known as the ‘Silly Season’ to some, but here in Byron Bay, it’s a marathon of fun activities and events.
This year, we have a new event to look forward to — the brand-new community initiative, Christmas Cheer in the Bay.
Organised by a collective of locals, Christmas Cheer in the Bay is all about bringing the whole community together to get festive and make this Christmas one to remember. Every local business is invited to help light up the town by decorating their shopfront. And there are prizes to be won! A generous $400 prize for the Best Dressed Christmas Window and $100 for the Most Innovative.
Sponsored by Byron Shire Council, Byron Chamber of Commerce and Byron Visitors Centre, the event will take place in Railway Park between 5.30 pm and 8 pm on Saturday 23rd December, for a magical evening filled with joy, laughter, and holiday cheer. There’ll be festive decorations, live music, and good times to be had by all.
If you want a double helping of festive fun, don’t forget that Bangalow’s main street will be closed off for the traditional Christmas Eve party with carols, street performers, local food stalls, carnival rides, a visit from Santa and entertainment for the whole family.
Christmas Day and Boxing Day traditionally involve family and friends, beach cricket, good food and plenty of chocolate. So, if you overindulge, you may want to take a long stroll along the beach. Or just put your feet up, relax with a movie or good book and help the kids play with their new toys.
However you choose to spend the Christmas break, we hope you enjoy the holidays in your own special way!
