Big win for Byron Yoga Centre
It’s long been said that Byron Bay might just be the yoga and wellness capital of Australia — and it’s not hard to see why. The retreats, the studios, the sunsets, the community… and of course, the incredible teachers.
Ewingsdale is a peaceful, rural suburb on the outskirts of Byron Bay. Just six kilometres west of Byron’s CBD, it’s a quiet community that sits at the foot of the St Helena ridgeline, making it a peaceful alternative to living in town.
As you drive along Ewingsdale Road towards the highway, the suburb’s main residential streets are to the south. Here you’ll find leafy streets lined with all sorts of stunning properties, ranging from architect-designed homes to restored Queenslanders. You’ll feel a sense of openness and space as you wander the streets, with many of the properties sitting on far larger blocks than you’ll find in town.
Ewingsdale is also home to Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School, Victoria’s luxury accommodation, the award-winning Fig Tree Restaurant and The Farm Byron Bay. A little closer to the Pacific Highway is Ewingsdale Hall – a beautiful heritage-listed building often rented out by the local community for weddings and celebrations.
On the opposite side of Ewingsdale Road, just to the east of The Farm, is Quarry Lane. When you drive along this peaceful country lane, you’ll spot cattle enjoying the shade of majestic fig trees, and stunning rural vistas will make you feel as if you’re miles away from anywhere.
Ewingsdale appeals to many Byron Bay locals for all sorts of reasons, but convenience is definitely close to the top of the list. You can get to the Pacific Highway and the Byron Farmers Market at the Cavanbah Centre quickly and easily. Plus, Byron’s buzzing Arts and Industry Estate is only a short drive away, so you can enjoy the endless array of coffee and food options on offer and get your shopping done all in one trip!
Another great thing about living in Ewingsdale is that you can take yourself to Belongil Beach for a swim or surf and pick up your groceries from the Supa IGA without getting caught up in the holiday traffic. And if you want to leave your car at home, you can. Just pick up the bike path on Ewingsdale Road, and you’ll be in the centre of town in minutes.
