Plans for future housing on public exhibition

Are you interested in finding out where new houses will be built in Byron Shire over the next two decades?

Last week, the Council formally confirmed their support for the broad strategies contained within its new Housing Options Paper. If adopted, the residential housing strategy would see up to 6,695 new homes built across Byron Shire over the next 20 years.

To learn more about how the Council intends to meet these targets, you can check out the public exhibition at their Mullumbimby offices up until 6 November. In addition, four information sessions will take place. Details below:

30 October 2023

  • Bangalow A&I Hall – 5:15pm to 6:15pm
  • Byron Community Centre – 7:30pm to 8:30pm

31 October 2023

  • Brunswick Heads (venue to be confirmed) – 5:15pm to 6:15pm
  • Council Chambers Mullumbimby – 7:30pm to 8:30pm

The closing date for submissions is 6 November.

All the best
